2020 Accomplishments

Many thanks to our donors and supporters for making 2020 a success despite being a challenging year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. There were no corona virus cases reported in the communities we serve and the total infected in Sierra Leone is minuscule compared to the rest of the world.

In 2020, because of you, we achieved a significant milestone by completing the water well and toilet facility projects. The children and their parents will no longer have to walk miles to fetch safe and clean drinking water. Completing the toilet provides the children a safe facility to use, avoiding the need to use bushes which create an unsanitary environment.

The Three Communities Primary School is now Hope Academy Primary and Secondary School. Enrollment spiked significantly with children coming from the neighboring villages to attend the school - 151 pupils are currently enrolled. We hired two additional teachers with teaching certificates to make sure that the children are receiving a quality education and using the syllabus prescribed by the Sierra Leone Ministry of Education. Ten students took and passed the National Primary School Examination (NPSE); they are now in Junior Secondary School.
